Steffi Graf defeated Conchita Martínez in the final, 3–6, 6–2, 6–0 to win the singles tennis title at the 1992 Virginia Slims of Florida.[1][2]
Gabriela Sabatini was the two-time defending champion, but lost in the quarterfinals to Amanda Coetzer.
The top eight seeds received a bye to the second round.
